Foshan Maternal and Child Health Hospital is a three-level maternal and child health institution approved by the Foshan Municipal Government. In 2020, it was renamed as "Foshan Women and Children's Hospital" and "Foshan Obstetrics Hospital". Passed the evaluation of a tertiary Grade A maternal and child health hospital in Guangdong Province, and ranked 21st among obstetrics and gynecology hospitals in the 2019 (latest) national performance evaluation of tertiary public hospitals.

The hospital was founded in 1951 and gradually developed and expanded after changing its location. At the end of 2020, the new city campus located in the core area of Foshan with a total investment of over 2.3 billion yuan was completed and put into use, officially forming a new development pattern of "one campus and three districts" for the new city campus, Chancheng campus, and Chengmentou scientific research base. The Xincheng Hospital is the main hospital area, which is the highland of women and children's medical care and the clinical research center of medical teaching and research of maternal and child health care in the west bank of the the Pearl River. It has established the "three major departments" of maternal and child health care (Maternity and Maternity Health Department, Children's Health Department, Women's Health Department) and three rescue centers (Critical Maternity and Maternity Treatment Center, Critical Newborn Treatment Center, Critical Children Treatment Center); The Chancheng campus is an important campus that provides convenient and inclusive basic healthcare services to the people. The hospital has 1350 beds and currently has 2315 employees, including 50 doctors (including those at the station) and 418 masters, accounting for 20% of the total number; 329 people hold senior professional titles and 681 people hold intermediate professional titles, accounting for 43% of the total number. In 2021, the entire hospital provided diagnosis and treatment services for over 2.554 million outpatient and emergency patients. 15316 babies fell to the ground in our hospital, providing entry and exit services for about 53000 patients. Through various surgeries, more than 60000 patients were relieved of their illnesses.
